  • Mt Pleasant South Carolina

I did another home tour a bit closer to home and I’ve started featuring each of them on individual place specific domains. I’m using Mt Pleasant SC Real Estate for this one and it really helps getting organic search results back to the agents. I’ve got about thirty regional domains that I’m now using. I lived in the old village of Mount Pleasant for several years and it was pretty laid back.

  • Weird Al Yankovich

I love Weird Al Yankovich. First time I remember hearing his music was on the Dr. Demento Show. This one’s going to be a viral hit.

  • Net Neutrality

Net neutrality refers to telecommunications companies lobbying to favor certain content providers and applications. Think about it.. a company like vonage wants to use the bellsouth dsl connection you are paying for to compete against the bellsouth’s telephone service… so the telecommunication companies want to protect themselves… as do the media outlets want to protect themselves from the Ipod, HD radio and IPTV. So they are spending a ton of money lobbying the issue before congress and it looks like the consumer will be the only casualty. And those idiots are going to draw political party lines on the issue. It’s just like this letter written here on behalf of Clear Channel Radio by 24 members of congress. Here are some links:

  • Brother Theodore

Update: 1/27/2019 – The video I had here originally has been removed. I’ve replaced it with a preview from the filmmakers youtube account. I watch David Letterman from about fourth grade on and I remember seeing Brother Theodore on occasion. I’ve attached a series of those video clips from Letterman below. I looked back at my files to figure out why I had posted it and found an email from my brother with a short video attached with a synthesized jazz saxophone soundtrack. My brother was working on a film score for a friend who was doing a documentary on Brother Theodore. The details on that are available at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brother_Theodore#To_My_Great_Chagrin_documentary. I must have been thinking of these at the time because the next post was also about another mutual friend. Looking back at them now… it’s just small world stuff. I had another post about this too and I’ve consolidated the two of them and added a list of relevant links as a reference.

  • Standardista since 2004

Standardista is a slang term for a web developer who adheres to and promotes web standards. I’m one and I’ve been testing all of my code against the W3C validator since I started. I also joined the W3C What working group to contribute.

In the world of web development, I’ve been digging on Ethan Marcotte’s blog. Geoff Sterns is the also good. The new gig doesn’t look so bad and I like the title of the company. World Domination through Graphic Design – The Chopping Block (.com) I like how they got their start with They Might Be Giants.

I try to be anti political, but the recent upswing in political PR has tempted me to point everyone to this blog. Condoleezza looks especially upset about the situation…
